The client (imaginary) is a middle-age, newly divorced man going through his Jeff Bezos phase. With dreams of attracting the young ladies to match his new vitality, he wanted his bachelor pad to be an audacious declaration of his success and sex appeal. And don’t forget the “toys”.
The result is a theatrical, dramatic, masculine, over-the-top yet not garish design that’s perfect for entertaining. Oh, and the gizmos to wow the guests? Kitchen that is hidden under an automated countertop; sofa and chairs sitting atop a turn-table so our client can swivel round to face where he wanted: TV, fireplace, outdoors…; a large screen TV that also swivels to face the living space or the bedroom; roof extension punctuated by gold-rimmed circular skylights, sleeping loft for his teenage son when he visits; landscaped garden with BBQ, hot-tub and a corten steel clad outdoor fireplace; and probably the most whimsical bang of a chandelier to set the tone for the space.
Unapologetically drool-worthy, or at the very least, a great conversation starter. A win-win all round.
